So I'm sitting here thinking again, but I'm thinking about completely different stuff. I'm looking at this painting of "Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroad" by Paul Collins. It's a real dark picture, it's night. Harriet Tubman is up front holding a rifle wearing a manly suit excepting the dress. Behind her is 3 other men a woman and a baby. One of the men is carrying a baby, another man is helping a man walk because his foot is fucked. The woman is behind the baby tending to it looking to make sure the baby is staying asleep to not make noise. The background is a swamp, dark trees, dark skies, every shadow ans fold is dramatic changes in the color. This painting is hung in various black people's homes, so it's well known.
Back then is was horrible. Being black, hell being something other than White. That was the only worry they had. Now there's things you have to worry about regarding your religion, beliefs, political stance, sexulaity. People get offended if you slip up saying "Look at that black man" instead of "Look at that African American man" shit people back then would look at us in shame. They're life was at stake just because they were born with something obvious, having ebony instead of cream colored skin, they weren't worried that someone knew if they liked dick or not.
